Go for the Fun Rental – A Houseboat, Loft or Stone Cottage
Why settle for ordinary, when your accommodation could be spectacular? For us, a highlight of our Amsterdam trip was staying on a houseboat in a canal. The living room featured a grand piano, and the windows opened onto the canal, which was handy for feeding the ducks and swans. Boats went by – we waved, they tooted their horns. This fun rental was one of our best memories of Amsterdam.

In Berlin, our artist’s loft in the trendy Kreuzberg area was 10 times the size of a hotel room, and much more fun. On a recent trip to the American south, we stayed in a perfect little stone cottage in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
